Hey all, things are going to be quiet around here for a bit as I will be on the road with Rosie & The Rivets a lot this summer. Please give the Facebook page a “like” and subscribe to the events listings if you would like to keep up with all those shows! The Sideshow will return with new music later this year…
Prom Night Is Here!
It is Springtime in Chicago (finally!) and that means Prom season is upon us. We are releasing a new single to celebrate. “Prom Night Misunderstanding” is a song that I wrote many many years ago. I dusted it off for the Hideout shows last year and it was so much fun to play, we decided to record it. As always, I gotta hand it to The Dashing Bastard Sideshow (Larry Beers, Johnny Million, Chuck King, and Tom Slater) for making this song sound so damn good!
This Will Be My Year
Only 40 days until we reach the end of Winter! This is the time of year that always gets to me… so close to Spring and then we get hit by some more bitter cold. I’ve been hanging on to this song for just such an occasion because sometime you need a little boost to make it thru.
“This Will Be My Year” was recorded in our rehearsal spaces and features Larry Beers, Chuck King, Tom Slater, Johnny Million (who also produced this track), and special guest percussionist Kris Anstrats.
Hang in there, friends!
Dann’s new live album The Echo Is All That Remains is now available! It was recorded in Chicago in January and February 2015 at The Hideout, Martyrs’, and live on the air at WBEZ. Joining Dann on these recordings are The Dashing Bastard Sideshow (Larry Beers, Tom Slater, Johnny Million, and Chuck King), Kristina Priceman (DICKIE), Lee Ketch (Mooner), and Bill Pekara & Mike Medina (The Gear/Cook County Soul Alliance).
One last Bash for summer
The first hints of autumn are in the air, but summer is not quite over yet. We’ve got time for one more outdoor bash- Skokie’s Backlot Bash to be precise. On Sunday, August 30, at 4:30pm I’ll be performing with The Dashing Bastard Sideshow on the main stage. There is a great line up of music all day… all weekend for that matter.
MORE INFO HERE…
The live album is coming on October 16. Stay tuned for more information and a preview!

On the couch with me, myself, and I.
March 17 marked my return to Couch By Couchwest… the best virtual music festival that I’ve ever known.
I shot a video of me performing “How Far I’ve Run” as a trio
Who’s going to SXSW? Not me.
As much as I love a good road trip and eating lots of tacos, I am staying in Chicago and ringing in the equinox with some great bands at one of the best dives in town. March 20 is the inaugural SUXS Fest show with Post Child, Mooner, Arts & Letters, and The Dashing Bastard Sideshow.
With a little help from my friends
My talented friend Jen Farrell of Starshaped Press designed and printed the incredibly cool posters for January’s Hideout Residency. I had no idea just how much work went in to that project until she wrote about it. Take a peak behind the scenes and see how it was done.
Next appearance- A double dose of Dan(n)s
On Thursday, February 12, Dann will open for legendary singer-songwriter Dan Navarro at Martyrs’. Dan Navarro will be joined a by stellar backing band which includes The Sideshow’s own Bashing Dastard Larry Beers on drums. Dann Morr will be joined by violinist Kristina Priceman for a stripped down acoustic set.
Dann Morr & The Dashing Bastard Sideshow on WBEZ’s Morning Shift
Dann was joined by Lee Ketch, Chuck King, Mike Medina, and Tom Slater to perform on Chicago’s Public Radio station WBEZ. He also talks with host Tony Sarabia about writing, performing, and the story behind Shouting Into the Wind
The Hideout warmly welcomes Dann Morr as January Resident Artist!
Following closely on the release of his new album Shouting Into the Wind, Dann Morr will be appearing Tuesday nights in January at The Hideout, “Chicago’s most loved small venue” (1354 West Wabansia Avenue). He will be taking listeners on a loosely chronological trip through his catalog of songs with themed nights highlighting artists and songwriters who have influenced him along the way.
